BCAAs are made up of three essential amino acids: leucine. isoleucine and valine. Leucine activates the complex compound mTOR, which is responsible for elevating muscle protein synthesis and subsequently muscle growth. Leucine also increases insulin production, which will help to shuttle those all important muscle building proteins to your cells after a workout. Valine combats another amino acid called tryptophan, which is associated with muscle fatigue – reducing the uptake of tryptophan across the blood-brain barrier helps to keep you lifting heavier for longer.
Example: You can take 5g in morning, 5g before workout and immediately 5g post workout.
